2020 APEX Call for Entries

Apex Don't miss out on the opportunity to showcase your talent - and early bird pricing for entries (Early Bird entries due August 20). The 15th Annual Apex Awards are coming to town October 14, 2020!

All marketing, public relations, design and digital media materials produced in 2019 are welcome. $10 per entry Early Bird discount yields an entry price for members of $30, non-members $40.

AWARDS CEREMONY: Wednesday, OCT 14, 2020

Good times are on the agenda as we explore the historic Wildwood Cultural Center and display the 2020 Apex winner at our anniversary-themed event. Lake County is rich and diverse in professional marketing talent. Gather all of your work from 2019 and celebrate the skill and history of our region!

Award Eligibility

APEX Awards recognize professionals in the communications industry affiliated with Lake Communicators and Lake County, Ohio. Eligibility is extended to companies, organizations, freelancers and individuals who live in, work in and/or provide services to clients in Lake, Geauga and Ashtabula counties. Entries must have been produced between January 1, 2019 and December 31, 2019 to be considered.

Multiple Categories for Entries

Entries can be placed in several categories. An entry fee required for each category submitted. For instance, a publication, or part of a publication, can be entered into both Mixed Media and Print Materials, and photographs from any project can also be entered as photographs in the Individual Photography category.

Entry Deadlines

There are two deadlines: the Early Bird is Thursday, August 20, 2020; and the final deadline is Tuesday, September 15, 2020. Save $10 on each Early Bird entry.

How to Enter

All entries must be made online using our online registration form. Complete the appropriate information and pay either with PayPal or by check. The entries themselves may be brought to Lake Communicators' lunch meetings or dropped off at:

NOTE- Every APEX Awards entry must include a link to or uploaded digital image of the entry when submitted. Printed entries (hard copies) still need to be submitted for the entry to be judged. The images are only for award presentation purposes.

Entries do not have to be mounted. Please advise if entries need to be returned. If entering in multiple categories, please enter one sample per category, if possible.

Ceremony, Judging, Fees

Awards Recognition

Winning entries for each category may receive a Gold, Silver or Bronze Award. Because of judging criteria, not every category is guaranteed to have a Gold, Silver or Bronze winner.

Awards Ceremony

Award recipients will be recognized at the Lake Communicators 15th APEX Awards evening ceremony on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at the Wildwood Cultural Center in Mentor.

Judging

APEX Awards judges are seasoned communications professionals from Northeast Ohio and are not affiliated with Lake Communicators. Judging is independent of Lake Communicators.

Entry Fees

Lake Communicators members Early Bird Entries received by August 20, 2020: $30
Entries received by September 15, 2020: $40

Fees for multiple entries: $10 for each of the second, etc., or part of an entry, entered into a different category.

Non-members Early Bird entries received by August 20, 2020: $40
Entries received by September 15, 2020: $50

Fees for multiple entries: $10 for each of the second, etc., or part of an entry, entered into a different category.
