APEX Categories
Please note: due to COVID-19, there will be no APEX in 2020, but we will wait until Spring 2021 to celebrate this region's outstanding marketing talent. We are showing the following categories as an example from previous years:
1. Public Relations
1A. Special Events and Observances
Programs or events scheduled for one to seven consecutive days (not including planning and preparation). Events may be commemorations, observances, opening, celebrations or other special activities and must occur within a time span of one week.
1B. Marketing Consumer Products or Services/Community Relations
Programs designed to introduce new or promote existing products or services to a consumer audience or that seek to win the support or cooperation of, or that aim to improve relations with people or organizations in communities in which the sponsoring organization has an interest, need or opportunity. Should include one-page summary of Public Relations objectives, tactics and results, including media coverage as appropriate.
1C. Marketing Business to Business
Programs designed to introduce new or promote existing products or services to a business audience. Should include one-page summary of Public Relations objectives, tactics and results, including media coverage as appropriate.
1D. Media Relations
Tactics, programs and events that are driven entirely by media relations. Submit press releases/media kit, satellite media tour materials, media advisories, pitch letters, requests for coverage, etc., along with evidence of resulting media coverage. Should include one-page summary of Public Relations objectives, tactics and results, including media coverage as appropriate. Broadcast/TV and Radio coverage may be submitted on a DVD (2 copies) or via digital file submission (Youtube link, mp3) with online entry.
2. Print Marketing
2A. Corporate ID, Brand Design, Logo Design
2B. Publications: Newsletter (1-16 pages)
2C. Magazine (minimum 8 pages)
2D. Annual Report
2E. Brochure, catalogue, view book, book
2F. Large format: Poster, Banner, Interior/exterior wayfinding/signage, Pop Display
3. Direct Mail
3A. Invite, announcements, postcards, multiple package
4. Collateral Literature
4A. Product sheet, white paper, flier, rack cards
5. Advertising
5A. Print
5B. Digital (banners, pop-ups, ad campaigns, etc).
All Digital Entries Must include a brief statement identifying the goal(s) and cite at least one outcome of the campaign.
5C. Outdoor
5D. Video (TV spot – Demo – Presentation – Promotion – PSA)
MUST provide LINK to Digital Media file or YouTube, mp3, etc. with entry submission.
5E. Audio (Radio spot – Podcast – Audio book – PSA)
MUST provide LINK to Digital Media file with entry submission.
6. Mixed Media Campaigns
6A. Campaign
Combines print, video and electronic mediums into one campaign. Must provide LINK to digital media file.
7. Digital Media - Website
7A. Website: Business to Business
7B. Website: Business to Consumer
7C. Website: Nonprofit
7D. Website: Government
8. Individual Specialty
8A. Writing

EVERY 2020 APEX AWARDS ENTRY MUST INCLUDE A DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPH OF THE ENTRY (Jpeg or PDF file) WHEN SUBMITTED ONLINE.
WEBSITES MUST INCLUDE A SCREENSHOT OF THE HOME PAGE AND LIVE LINK TO SITE.
