Tom Brick, associate vice president at McKinney Advertising & Public Relations in Cleveland, will present “Six Key Factors that Set Apart Business-to-Business (B2B) and Consumer Marketing” at the September Lake Communicators luncheon.
In this presentation, he will discuss the unique similarities and differences between consumer and B2B marketing communications from the audience they target to the mediums they use.
Tom provides account management for several of McKinney’s key clients as well as directing new business development activities in both the forprofit and nonprofit sectors.

With an MBA in marketing from Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management, Tom has extensive marketing experience in several industries, including advanced technologies, automotive, DIY/home improvement and construction industry.
Tom delivers high-impact marketing and public relations programs derived from his extensive experience on both the client and agency sides of the marketing industry . Tom is a member of the Sales and Marketing Executives, the Cause Marketing Forum and Association of Fundraising Professionals.

A box lunch from Mike’s Kitchen will be served in the studio cafeteria where we will begin an hour-long tour of Cleveland’s Ideastream TV (WVIZ/PBS) and Radio (90.3 WCPN) studios.
Ideastream is a public service, multiple-media organization with a mission to strengthen our communities by providing distinctive, thought provoking programs and services that enlighten, inspire, educate and entertain.
We will return to the Comfort Inn at 2 p.m.

Dawn Plante is director of marketing & communications for Lakeland Community College. She has 18 years experience in the field. She is responsible for all marketing, advertising, public relations and internal communications programs at the college.
Dawn has worked for Ben Venue Laboratories in Bedford, OfficeMax Inc. retail headquarters in Shaker Heights, and at Lakeland before leaving to obtain business experience. She also worked as director of public relations at Lake Erie College and as a reporter for The News-Herald and the Fairfield County Leader.
She is a Leadership Lake County graduate and holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from The Ohio State University.

Liz Wozniak is director of marketing and communications for the United Way of Lake County.
With more than 25 years experience in nonprofit organizations, Liz has experience in arts and education programs for pre-K through adult, marketing and box office operations, fund raising and event sponsorship, board development and technical production for music, dance and theatre.

Liz holds a bachelor of fine arts degree in theatre from Lake Erie College and is completing her M.A. at Kent State University.
A serious outdoor person, Liz adores her Irish Wolfhounds, beloved cats, all horses (riding and driving), gardening, bicycling, and her family and friends.

Ray Somich is president and general manager of WELW Radio AM 1330 in Eastlake. In the past, Ray has been involved in several businesses, including lawn and garden equipment, a restaurant, property management, software programming and computer hardware.
Under Ray’s direction, WELW has become one of the largest independent radio stations in Northeast Ohio. Ray also is founder of Spirit Media, a full-service advertising agency.
Ray emcees and keynotes many local events, is a United Way board member and is active in his church. He is a Rotarian and is a Willoughby Hills councilman.
He and his wife Mary Jo of 28 years have four grown children. He enjoys writing, singing and playing drums in a local band and following professional sports.

Monthly Meetings
Membership meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month at the Comfort Inn & Conference Center, 7701 Reynolds Road, just south of Rt. 2. Lunch meetings are held from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. and include networking and a half hour program. Breakfast meetings are held from 7:45 to 9 a.m. Guests are always welcome.
