| New 2007 board members elected |
Lake Communicators held its annual election for new board members. Members cast their ballots online or at the November meeting.
The nominating committee, consisting of at least three Lake Communicators members and including one current board member, presented the ballot with nominations from the general membership at the November board meeting.
Up for grabs were four board of director seats. Current members Kathie Purmal, Diana Lewis, Skip Trombetti and Jessica Petersen had served the requisite two-year terms and their seats were subject to the election.
|
|
Remaining on the board are previous members Kathie Purmal and Diana Lewis. New trustees are John Venen and Laura Freeman.
"Congratulations to the winners," Lake Communicators President Tom Ruffner said. "We will miss both Jessica and Skip on the board."
The board is looking for volunteers for such committees as the Membership, Publicity, Meetings, Social Events, Web Site and Outreach committees.
Old and new board members are invited to attend the Dec. 8 board meeting at Comfort Inn at 8:30 a.m. to plan for next year. |

| Rick McPeak joins the club |
Rick McPeak, associate director of community office operations at the Lake County Red Cross, has joined Lake Communicators.
Rick will retire next June after a 33-year career. He is excited about the new challenges and opportunities he will explore after his retirement.
He enjoys photography and writing and has used those skills throughout his career; he’s been the source of just about every Lake County Red Cross news release and photo for the past three decades.
His next marketing campaign will be for himself -- |
|
he will start marketing his post-retirement identity as a consultant in the areas of training and facilitating, emergency planning and communications.
He also will continue to volunteer for the Red Cross and will be happy to help anyone with Red Cross activities such as first aid and CPR training, disaster preparedness, or the ins-and-outs of hosting a bloodmobile.
Learn more about Rick at his Web site www.richardmcpeak.com. He can be contacted via e-mail at rick@richardmcpeak.com, on his cell phone at 440-382-0028, home phone, 440-639-2415 or at the Lake County Red Cross until the end of May at 440-352-7241, Ext. 103. |

| It's membership renewal time! |
Attention Lake Communicators members. It’s that time of year. Yes, it’s time to run around like a chicken from sale to sale, stand in line for hours and rack your brain to come up with the perfect gift only to have it returned by your loved one the week after Christmas.
It’s also membership renewal time. Each member should have already received a renewal invoice in the mail, as well as an e-mail reminder from Shirley Wolfe. Membership dues remain the same -- $100 for the first member and just $25 for each additional member from the same organization.
And remember, membership has its privileges. |
|
Access to a great monthly line-up of speakers, networking opportunities and an entire group of professional mentors willing to help you with your business are yours.
This year, sign up more people from your office to help Lake Communicators grow. The more, the merrier. And, by renewing your membership now, you will be assured a free listing in the Lake Communicators 2007 membership directory.
This year’s directory promises to be as nice as last year’s -- full-color photos of each member as well as a lengthy description/bio of you and your company. |
