There were many winners in 13 different categories plus Best of Show and The News-Herald Public Information Award. Other categories included sales promotion, direct marketing, interactive media, public relations and mixed media/advertising.


The Apex committee was chaired by Jerie Green, with Dave Saifman, Annemarie Donnelly, Dick Fraser, Laura Fredrick, Jan Pemberton, Diana Lewis, Barb Snow and Bob Zyromski.

Regovich's Catered Services in Eastlake supplied food for the event. Trays of shrimp cocktail and other hors d'oeuvres as well as a chocolate fountain made sure the guests were well-fed.


Several Apex award winners won awards in different categories.


Kathie Pohl, public information officer for the city of Mentor, and her staff of Gary Abrahamsen, Jonathan Edwards, Dan Kazel and Andy Spiesman, received the award for the city's success in reaching multiple audiences, for promoting multiple services, and for using multiple ways to reach them.

The TNT Publications, parent company of The Lake County Business Journal, won an Apex Award for its Web site, www.lakebusinessjournal.com, designed by Lakenetwork.
